Daffodils and Remodels

Today we redecorated the dining room in my house (my parents' house, that is...). The room has a lot of black furniture: table and chairs, piano, buffet, and cabinet. We also have a lot of black and white photos on the walls. With such a monochromatic color scheme, we decided to cover the previously marroon and teal walls with a soft greyish-blue. I have to say, it looks pretty swanky.

Also, I took the time to snip a few daffodils out of our front yard this morning for my mom--she loves them. Turns out they look pretty good in the freshly painted dining room.

I'm still trying to master Google's Picasa photo editing software, so all these pics of the daffodils will feature multiple effects. Obviously, some are a little overboard, but I am trying to see the extremes so I can learn how to balance it (if that makes sense to anyone but me). Ireally like popping just the yellow of the flowers because it's such a vibrant punch, and I also love directing the focus either with Picasa or on my Pentax as I'm taking the pic.

Anyway, that's all I've got for today. Who knows, maybe one of the pics I took will end up hanging on the wall.

Enjoy,
-JM
