Flora and Fauna, minus the fauna
When I was in 7th grade, our science book was called Life Science. Of course it briefly discussed flora and fauna, and for some reason, those two terms for plants and animals, respectively, have stuck in my head.
Whenever--and I mean "whenever"--I think about plants and animals, I say "flora and fauna" in my head. Anyway, all that was to say, "Hey! Enjoy this pics I took in my back yard this morning!"
Those spikey weeds.
Tiny little white flowers.
Yellow flower.
Happy Snapping,

Daffodils and Remodels
Today we redecorated the dining room in my house (my parents' house, that is...). The room has a lot of black furniture: table and chairs, piano, buffet, and cabinet. We also have a lot of black and white photos on the walls. With such a monochromatic color scheme, we decided to cover the previously marroon and teal walls with a soft greyish-blue. I have to say, it looks pretty swanky.
Also, I took the time to snip a few daffodils out of our front yard this morning for my mom--she loves them. Turns out they look pretty good in the freshly painted dining room.
I'm still trying to master Google's Picasa photo editing software, so all these pics of the daffodils will feature multiple effects. Obviously, some are a little overboard, but I am trying to see the extremes so I can learn how to balance it (if that makes sense to anyone but me). Ireally like popping just the yellow of the flowers because it's such a vibrant punch, and I also love directing the focus either with Picasa or on my Pentax as I'm taking the pic.
Anyway, that's all I've got for today. Who knows, maybe one of the pics I took will end up hanging on the wall.
Enjoy,

Horses and Chucks
I swung by my friends' barn today to say "hey" and ended up taking some pics (of course). Horses are cool--they're like really big dogs. Dogs that don't listen to you or seem excited to see you. Dogs that could bite your fingers off.
So yeah, they're not my favorite animals, but horses are fun to take pictures of.
Also, I liked the way my shoes looked so I snapped a shot of them and added some effects to it just for kicks (pun!).
That's all folks,

More photos from Winnataska
Some deceased flora.
Cactus and bright green grass.
Waterfalls, dead tree, and mossy rock.
Assortment of objects on the rocks.
Branches with buds in front of the falls.
Natural stuff.
The friendly lab.
Hanging ivy, waving grass, and bright green grass.
Broken tree trunk and dead grass.
Fire is one of the most mesmerizing things ever in my opinion.
The ceiling of the octagonal room at Winnataska, and the aisle in the chapel.
A branch with buds with the cross of the chapel in the background.
Enjoy the pics,

One of the chandeliers in the main hall.
A closeup of a fishing pole.
Rushing water at the falls.
More pics coming soon,
